Roger Friedlein ist Professor für iberoromanische Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaft an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum. Aktuelle Forschungsinteressen betreffen Epos und Dialog im iberoromanischen Mittelalter und der Frühen Neuzeit sowie den literarischen Wandel von der Romantik zum Modernismus um die Wende zum 20. Jahrhundert in Spanien, Hispanoamerika und Brasilien.
