Klappentext
Barbara Hannah was a close associate of Carl Gustav Jung. This book features a seminar she gave at the Psychological Club in 1954 about the images of the cat, the dog, and the horse in the psychological and cultural life of the western world. It also includes the lecture Hannah presented to an American audience on the subject of the Beyond. Early in her adult life Hannah traveled to Zurich to study with Jung, and she lived there for the rest of her life, sharing a house with Marie-Louise von Franz. She wrote a biography of Jung, lectured at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, and conducted a private practice. Barbara Hannah (1891-1986) was born in England. Dean Frantz has done the Jungian community a great service in bringing out this book, which not only contains an excellent biography of Ms. Hannah but several of her lectures, in print for the first time. Writing in a concise, fast-moving style, Frantz brings Barbara Hannah back to life in the memory of those of us who knew her and introduces her as a real personality to those who did not have this privilege. - John Sanford Frantz has done an admirable job in capturing the spirit of his teacher and friend, who was one of Carl Jung's most capable and creative female colleagues. -Richard L. Stanger, Ph.D. This book takes us back to Zurich in the fifties when Jung was still alive. Dean Frantz has compiled a memorial to an extraordinary woman who had been a close and devoted follower of Jung for many years. Frantz's own biographical sketch of Hannah is warm, alive, and informative, and makes good reading. -Edith Wallace
