Timothy Tackett is Professor of History at the University of California, Irvine. His many publications include When the King Took Flight (2003).

From 1660 to 1815 the Enlightenment, religious reawakenings and revolution brought a fundamental cultural reorientation to Europe, North America, and ultimately to the wider world, shaping a new religious climate.
