Vorwort
During World War II the leading RAF and Italian aces in the Mediterranean flew the Supermarine Spitfire V and the Macchi C.202 Folgore, respectively. In March 1942, at the height of the Axis aerial assault on Malta, the British deployed the Spitfire V to counter Italy's superb C.202, one of the war's finest fighters; it was the first time Mitchell's famous fighter had been deployed outside the UK, and it arrived just in time.
